Levi

I think I will take a little moment to do a quick update on our little Levi. As you can see from the picture below, he is VERY into food right now. We finally gave up completely on baby food as we realized that all this little guy wants and has been wanting for quite some time is REAL FOOD. I guess that makes a lot of sense seeing as how he comes from a family where REAL food is greatly valued. We are constantly getting together with Stevie's parents, siblings and the boys' cousins to cook out and eat great homemade food. I guess Levi felt like he wanted to join in and tried to show us that by refusing baby food. So as a result, we have been doing table food for about a month or more. And he can't seem to get enough. So far he has eaten (or attempted to eat) some foods that have really surprised me. And he has no teeth for biting so his skills sometimes impress me. Some of those foods include: grilled asparagus, baked potato, corn on the cob - yes I said on the cob -, sweet potato fries, chicken, mac-n-cheese, potato chips, whole strawberries, refried beans, dill pickles, potato salad, pancakes, scrambled egg and the one that really tops it off, chicharrĂ³on (Spanish for pig skins). I guess he figures he needs this diverse diet for all of the crawling he is doing now. He low crawls just like a marine (making his daddy proud) and believe it or not, gets to top speeds pretty quickly. Judah is still a little baffled by Levi's new movement!

Getting big!

Time has really been moving quickly lately. I can't believe it's March, we just had Daylight Savings, we are in Lent and Easter is just around the corner! Judah is now 26 months, going on 27 and Levi is 8, working on 9 months. My babies are getting bigger every day and doing so many fun and new things.

Judah has really developed his own sense of style lately. As you can see in this picture, he has on his "Cars" pjs and Elvis sunglasses. He also LOVES wearing his boots with just about anything - shorts, pants, diapers, and even over his footsies pjs.

Here are all 3 of the loves of my life in Frisco. We recently took a little family day trip there while Stevie took care of some business at work. Judah loves trains so we had to stop and take pictures in front of the train in Heritage Park.

Little Levi-with his cute rolls and adorable still toothless smile! So far he is right on track with Judah's development-Judah didn't get his first tooth or crawl until 9 months. Levi's getting awfully close to both of those milestones, but still hasn't completely succeeded at either. He LOVES to eat though-only you can't feed the food to him. He won't touch it if I am trying to feed it to him on a spoon. He wants to grab it, squish it and shove it in his mouth himself.

Judah and Levi love playing ALL DAY LONG! I'm so thankful for the warm weather and extra hours of daylight. They love playing outside and as you can see above, Levi thinks he can do whatever his brother can do - including standing up to drive his red car!

Big Weekend!

This weekend was a very big weekend for Stevie and for our whole family. Saturday night was the 2008 Awards Banquet night for the PD. Stevie was given the very important job of providing the annual video entertainment for the event. This meant hours of creating, filming and editing skits performed by various people in the police department. Stevie worked on this project numerous hours and for the past several months. To make the pressured even greater, the Chief decided to forgo a "special speaker" this year and rely on Stevie's production to be the sole source of entertainment for the 150 plus people in attendance. Talk about pressure!

Well it went off without a hitch! The crowd loved the 35 minute video which included spoofs off of shows such as "Cops", "Office Space", "Law and Order" and a Beastie Boys video just to name a few. Not only were the skits funny and witty, but Stevie even managed to get Dallas Cowboy football player Leonard Davis to guest star as a character in his Beastie Boys video. The Chief thought it was hilarious and so did the rest in attendance. I was super happy for Stevie and proud as well.

Then, the night just got better. Stevie did not tell me but he was nominated for "Rookie of the Year" for the department. There were 19 possible rookies to choose from and three people nominated. And Stevie got it! Our whole family is SOOOOO PROUD of him-not surprised though! Stevie truly excels in leadership and has always been an incredible man. He received a certificate, an engraved award, a bar that he now wears on his uniform identifying him as having received this prestigious award and a beautifully engraved wooden box with a very nice watch inside.

So of course we spent the rest of the weekend celebrating. We cut some rug at the after party, went to my mom's house for lunch after church and Stevie's parents took the whole family out for dinner to celebrate on Sunday night. Afterwards we went back to their house for coffee, cake and ice cream.

Of course since I had no idea my husband was going to win one of the five awards presented that night I did not have my camera in my tiny purse I brought in. But they had a professional photographer on hand taking pictures and they are going to be taking more pictures of the award winners in uniform at work in the coming days so I will post a picture later :)

Babe you make me PROUD!
